Primera's low volume one-off disc printing for your home or office. It prints onto almost any shiny silver or gold CD-R or DVD-R. Unlike the Casio CW-50 printer you see in many retail locations that prints just a single line, the Signature Z1 prints in ALL FOUR AREAS of the disc - automatically and hands-free. A built-in motor spins the disc to perfectly align each print area. It uses thermal transfer technology, which means that the ink is waterproof and permanent. It's not designed for heavy volume printing but when you have home videos, music mixes, marketing data, and photos that only need one or two copies printed in a single color (black, and several optional colors available) the Signature Z1 is a good choice. You'll never have to use sticky labels (expensive, hard to apply and potentially damaging to players) or a marking pen (not very professional looking) ever again! Label your music, video, data, and photo CDs and DVDs. Use the printer at your home, school, church or office - anywhere you burn discs. MACs are not supported!

Does this printer come with software to produce the image to be printed on the CD?Hi,
This printer comes with the software that allows you to type a text or import images (.bmp .jpeg .gif etc). Please note that this machine offers only monochrome, 200dpi prints in 4 rectangular sections of the disc (this is not full face printer).

Hi - Im interested in in the PRIMERA SIGNATURE Z1 DVD AND CD PRINTER. I need to run this from an apple mac and need to check if it is compatibleplease advise!! Also i need to print onto silver cds and dvds - are there any silver discs (media) which i could print onto??Hi this product is not compatible with mac computers. Does this unit work with Apple Mac machines?Alex, The Primera Z1 is not Mac Compatible. If you would not a mac enabled DVD CD printer, then I recommend a Epson R340 or a Primera Bravo SE

For the PRIMERA SIGNATURE Z1 DVD AND CD PRINTER would the CD-R have to be printable cds or not ?The Primera Z1 does not require discs to have an inkjet printable surface. It does require discs to be suitable for printing with a thermal printer. The discs will therefore need a flat surface with no branding. Usually standard unbranded discs in CD or DVD will suffice.

can you print logos, do you have to have all print cartridges to use cd printerThe Primera Z1 is a thermal printer that uses vector based graphics - it can do line art logos and text. It does not work effectively with bitmaps and jpegs. Good professional type resultas can be achieved. It requires Z1 thermal ink ribbon for operation. It uses only 1 cartridge at a time. Most people use black.

Thermal CD printing
Hi people at CD-writer.com. 2 years ago I bought from you a TDK thermal printer for aroun ?90 and I have been very happy with it. DO you knwo if my TDK cartridges will work with the Z1 becuase I would like to buy one and have a few TDK carts left.Hello there - the TDK printer cartridges will not work with the Z1. The Z1 carts offer more prints and cost more - but the Z1 offers great print quality in 4 print areas.
